Edward A. Pernal, Jr., a San Clemente resident for over 30 years, graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1994, and has concentrated his law practice in the trusts and estates area since that time. Ed became an associate of the Estes & Estes law firm of San Clemente nearly twenty years ago, a law firm headed by David Estes who was well known in the community for his expertise in estate planning, trust administration, and trust litigation. That firm was eventually purchased by Toni DeGasperin, Attorney at Law, and Ms. DeGasperin has decided to close her San Clemente office. Ed is determined to continue to remain committed to the residents of the communities of San Clemente, Dana Point, and Capistrano Beach by opening his own office in San Clemente concentrating on estate planning and trust administration.
While enrolled as a law student Ed was acknowledged for excellence in various Moot Court competitions and was Executive Editor of the San Diego Law Review. Ed completed his undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majoring in Marketing and also received a Master of Arts in Management and Human Relations from Webster University.
Before entering law school Ed was a Marine aviator flying out of MCAS El Toro and retired from the United States Marine Corps Reserves as a LtCol. Ed was also a commercial airline pilot with both Trans World Airlines and its successor, American Airlines.
As an attorney, Ed has created thousands of estate plans, administered hundreds of trusts, settled numerous probate estates, and has assisted conservators in fulfilling responsibilities. Ed concentrates his practice in the area of trust administration, estate planning, and probate administration. He is an active member of both the California and Orange County Bar Associations. Ed has also been designated by the California Bar to provide Continuing Legal Education in the area of Trusts and Estates to California licensed attorneys.
